1. What comes in the box with the subwoofer?
Just the subwoofer. Packaged nice and snuggly with protective packing material to ensure the subwoofer arrives to you safely.

2. How is the performance of this car audio subwoofer?
All of CT Sounds Subwoofers are classified as SQL. They are the perfect balance between SQ and SPL. The Tropo Subwoofer will play loud while also sounding AMAZING! These woofers do really well on the low-end frequencies and give you that nice deep and smooth transitioning bass when tuned to our recommended box frequency of 34-hertz. If you are looking for a more punchy style of bass then I would recommend going smaller on the box volume and tuning the port to a higher frequency.

3. I have a 1500 watt RMS at 1 ohm amplifier, is that too much power for a pair?
The Tropo subwoofers are rated at 600 watts RMS each, which is 1200 watts RMS for the pair. All CT Sounds products are underrated, our subwoofers and speakers can handle more power than what we rate them at and our amplifiers put out more power than what we say.
With that being said, as long as you tune your amplifier correctly you should be fine, it might be a good idea to back the gain down slightly just to be safe. We recommend tuning your amplifier with an SMD DD-1 or O-scope to ensure you are not clipping. Make sure to set your subsonic filter on your amplifier at roughly 2-4 hertz below your box tuning.
The two main reasons subwoofers break is because of square sound waves being produced by your amplifier and sent to the subwoofer which is also known as clipping. The second reason is playing below your subwoofer box tuning.
One last thing to note is that the more power you are sending to your subwoofers the smaller the subwoofer box should be. This will act as an additional suspension for your subwoofers. Our recommend box size is for running the subwoofers at their RMS power. -
4. Does an enclosure come with your purchase?
A subwoofer box is not included with the purchase of these subwoofers. In order for your new subwoofer to sound the absolute best, we recommend building a subwoofer box that is made specifically for these subwoofers and your specific vehicle.

5. Why type of enclosure is recommended? Is their any style of enclosure that won't work with these subwoofers?
Personally, I would recommend using a ported box that is tuned to around 34-hertz.
These subwoofers will do well in all style boxes such as sealed enclosures, ported enclosures, and bandpass (4th order & 6th order) enclosures.
